How Unigem checks tokens
Last updated 2026-10-30Every number in Unigem has a source, and every check stands on its own. Here is exactly what they mean, and where they stop.
Where the data comes from
New tokens: Unigem’s own server reads the blockchains directly. On Solana it follows pump.fun launch events; on Ethereum and Base it follows pool-creation events from Uniswap v2, v3 and v4, and Aerodrome on Base. It reads the name, symbol and supply from the token contract itself and checks whether the contract is brand new or an older token that just got a pool.
Prices, pools, charts and search: GeckoTerminal (data provided by CoinGecko) and DEX Screener.
Risk checks: GoPlus Security, an automated contract scanner.
Every screen in the app names its source. Unigem does not edit or verify third-party data.
How fresh it is
When a source says when its data was produced, the app labels it Fresh (under 2 minutes), Aging (under 15 minutes) or Stale. When a source doesn’t say, the app shows when Unigem fetched it instead.
A missing value is shown as “not available”. It is never filled with a guess or shown as zero.
The risk checks
Ethereum and Base: owner or admin controls (a hidden owner, reclaimable ownership, or an owner who can change balances), a mint function, trading restrictions (blacklists, whitelists, pausable transfers, cooldowns, changeable or per-address tax, blocked buying, and a sell that fails in simulation), an upgradeable contract, and holder concentration (the top 10 holders, excluding burn addresses and locked holdings, owning more than 30%).
Solana: mint authority, freeze authority, Token-2022 restrictions (transfer fees, transfer hooks, non-transferable tokens, balances an authority can change) and mutable metadata. Holder concentration isn’t checked on Solana yet.
Each check stands on its own and shows one of: Detected, Not detected, Unknown or Unavailable. Unigem never combines them into a single score.
How Trending is ranked
Trending ranks tokens by organic one-hour activity among tokens with at least $10K liquidity: 35% volume, 25% transactions, 25% volume divided by liquidity and 15% price change, using percentile ranks. Tokens missing any input aren’t ranked.
Paid boosts are never an input. A rank describes recent trading activity, not quality.
What Unigem can’t tell you
Whether a token is safe, legitimate or worth anything. “Not detected” only means the scanner didn’t find that condition.
Who is behind a token, what they intend, or whether promises made off-chain are true.
Whether liquidity will stay, whether you’ll be able to sell, or what the price will do.
Anything about tokens a source hasn’t indexed yet. Brand-new tokens often show Unknown for every check at first.
That the data is right. Providers can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and contracts can change after a check ran.
Unigem is for reference only and is not financial advice. Always verify the full contract address from an official source.
